About asking this girl out tonight. We have/had been dating for about 6 mos, until Friday she said she needed time to find herself (take a break, I guess?!). Then proceeds to text me about 20 times each of the last 2 days and I know she wants me to ask her out tonight. I am understandably gunshy, but I want her back when she's ready. So, what would you do? Ask or just let it go?

I honestly think this lady is playing games with you. She just wants to see how quickly you will jump when she snaps her fingers.( Tell me you didnt text her back) Ask her out, but if you start seeing her again make it on your terms. You decide when you need space or a break let her know that you can see each other at YOUR convenience, do not let this girl wrap you around her finger and make you jump through hoops.

Run away! That's a "Crazy Woman" alert if I have ever seen one! She probably met someone friday, then decided you were better than he appeared to be, hence the 20 texts. If you do decide you need this woman, go very slow and make sure that she doesn't make a habit out of breaking your heart, then trying to get back with you.

ask he back out maybe she just needed space before. and now wants and is ready to get back together. ask her out at the end of the night though not right at the begining see how things go

i would ask if she wants to hang out and just catch up, but don't mention getting back together and don't call it a date
