muslims.. what do you think about homosexuals?

i know that it is a sin in islam to be gay.

i am a non muslim, and i am gay, and very gay friendly.

so my question is.. how would i be treated in an islamic country?

Would i be killed? Or should i be killed?

what do you think on the issue.

i am asking this because i want a better insight of islam. i usually slam down islam, but have decided that instead of being rude and not giving muslims a chance, i should be nice and see how muslims really feel about the issue.

and yes, all countries and opinions do vary.. i was trying to sort of see what you guys thought the overall majority viewed about this issue.

your question sounds unnecessarily provocative. no one can speak for an entire religion, and certainly not one that spans dozens of countries and several continents. everywhere is different, and within each muslim societies there are different opinions.

I am a Christian, not a Muslim, and I know you want a Muslim response but it is an interesting and valid question - one I was looking at just the other day on an Islamic website in fact.

The answer was to the point, so I summarise - homosexuality within Islam is a perversion and in certain Islamic countries it is punishable by death. Specifically the victim is murdered by stoning, having a wall pulled ontop of them or other even more awful methods.

Now that's intolerance of the most abhorrent type and is just wrong wrong wrong. But that's Islam for you.

I will only tell you what is in the Quran about the same-gender-couple people: God created a female for the first male, because he created the male with an inclinations to be attracted to the female, then produce offspring to multiply.
In the storey of Prophet Lot (pbuh) the men in his village (gays) who "were doing horrendous sins", see how their acts were described? God did not approve their acts.
You will not be killed, does it say on your forehead that U R so and so? Who knows? But if Muslims know, they will look at you with disgust, sorry to say it, but U asked the question. They might not show it, U won't know what they feel.

as with other religions, Islam is divided into many different subsects which each has an understanding of the Koran. this question is far too broad to be answered accurately. i'm muslim, and i have absolutely nothing against homosexuality. you don't choose to be homosexual, so you shouldn't be persecuted for it - but that's just a personal opinion, not a religious-based one. i think one thing everybody forgets is that God is accepting and loving. He/She does not judge you. If you believe in God, don't forget, He/She created you and wouldn't have created someone just to judge them unworthy of love.

its not everyday when people decide to actually try and accept islam. im muslim by the way and if you were a gay muslim, you'd never be tortured or killed. being gay in Islam though would just make you a really bad muslim because we arent supose to marry opposite sexes. basically you'd just be calling yourself muslim but not practicing the religion by breaking those rules. it's very important to understand that the majority of us muslims are peaceful. if you were gay and approached one of us, we'd treat you no differently than anyone else.
