Religion likes to do thought control of its converts. That's why it teaches that even thinking about a sin is a sin. Sin, though, is an outdated concept. It's much better to think about why something is right or wrong in various circumstances than just being spoon-fed a list of rules.
Satan doesn't exist, neither does God.

Satan is in a mystery program just like the church. 2 Thessalonians 2: 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. Satan himself is transformed into a angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11: 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. His ministers are ministers of righteousness. 2 Corinthians 11: 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. They are teaching self righteousness not the righteousness that is inputted to you when you believe and trust that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins. Romans 3: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

According to the Bible (which I have read but no longer believe), we were given free will by God. According to the fundamentalist Christians & some other religions, if you doubt what they try to tell you, you lack faith & the doubt is put in your mind by Satan.

Many thoughts can be suggested by Satan. They would be lies like, "Ugly" when you look in the mirror. Or, "So & so is demonic." when they are praising God in spirit & truth. Or, "Your neighbor hates you.".
I have heard these kind of lies in the spirit before. Satan has knowledge that exalts itself against God (Creator). And plants that teaching in thoughts like, "Creation was just an accident. Things accidently happened.", or "God is the monkey spirit.", or "You will never be healed.".
Satan is afraid of people being saved, reborn spiritually, so will plant thoughts, "God hates you.", "Jesus never shed His own blood to redeem you from your sins.", "Jesus never died on the cross.", "You have to be good enouph before you can come to God.".
Some thoughts planted by Satan. They are always seeds of Doubt, false accusations, lies, rejection, fear, murder, lust, thievery, etc... Anything that leads to destructive behavior.
The only way to overcome them is to cast them down and speak out loud the truth found in God's promises. God calls me beautiful. Meditate on www.fathersloveletter.com. By His stripes I am healed. He sent His Word and healed us of all our diseases. God, you said that you will never leave or forsake me. Etc...
It is written that the Holy Spirit knows the heart / mind of man & God, and so God is who knows our mind & thoughts (For us born of God). But satan can sneak a thought into our minds that we must take authority over & cast it down. Submit unto God (pay attention to God, pray), resist satan & satan flees.

No. Actually, an angel is not supposed to be able to know a human's thoughts but I can't recall the exact Scripture verse at this moment.
(Sorry, that's an indirect way of answering your question.)
