I have dirty blond-ish hair that comes a little below my shoulders (I'm working on growing it out.) My hair gets really frizzy and poofy a lot. I straighten it a bunch, which doesn't really help, but it's the only thing I can do to keep it under control. I use lots of conditioners and stuff, and I guess it's getting a little better. But I want my hair to be really smooth and shiny... any hints?

Don't overwash your hair! If you wash it too much it will dry out and die. Use shampoo about every other day, unless your hair is oily. Be sure to use a light conditioner on the ends of your hair daily, and a deep conditioner weekly. You use heat to style your hair, and you need to stop! Just use the straightener up to 3 times a week or you'll fry your hair! Oh and there's a shampoo by Paul Michel (sp?) called Super Skinny and it helps to smooth hair and protects against heat so it's good.

Good luck!

BY using shampoos and conditioners made especially for frizzy, dry hair. Let the conditioner stay in your hair for 30 minutes then rinse out . towel dry. don't use hair or blow driers . the dry and damage the hair from the heat. let your hair dry naturally. and use mousse if you don't already. no hair sprays . they dry the hair and scalp. and weigh the hair down . it gets sticky and causes flaking scalp. There are hair vitamins that work real well ..and just taking regular vitamins helps also...
