No one has been there so no one knows for sure what it is like.

I much prefer the Buddhist concept of nirvana and enlightenment. Inner peace would be like heaven to me given that I've never experienced it in this life.

Well I think Heaven is most assuredly the most fantastic place we should all be aiming to reach (through the Son). The Bible is full of promise about Heaven and since I believe the Bible in its entirity I do not believe there is any reason why God would make Heaven anything less than He has told us about.
A place beyong human comprehension of awe-inspiring joy, beauty, love, happiness and then some ... personally I'm really looking forward to getting there!
There is only one person who would inspire doubt, and he is destined for the lake of fire. So don't listen to *that* voice!

I thought the whole point of heaven was that it was all it was cracked up to be...

(Of course nobody knows for sure. It doesn't appear on as many album covers, and when you do see a picture or a painting everyone looks pretty bland, but its good to try to keep an open mind eh?)

There are people who went to heavens gates but were prayed back to life. Thier testimony was on chanel 7 earlier this year. I have a book of one of them. Heaven has pearly gates and those who got that far don't really want to come back, yet are happy to tell others their experience and how wonderful. One can't describe the wonder of it accurately though.

If one finds out what it is like at hells gates are very happy they were prayed back though. It is a horrible experience.

It'll be true paradise which sure beats the pit of weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Many many people have been to both places (out of body experience after death) and been brought back to tell about it.
1 fantastic book is 90 minutes in heaven by Don Piper.

What if Hell isn't all that it is cracked up to be?
No one has been there (and back) so no one knows for sure what it is like.

What if Heaven isn't a place but more a state of being. What I mean is that God himself returns to the Earth, and essentially wherever God is that is where heaven is. The modern concept of heaven has its origin in Greek mythology, which in no way correlates to Christianity. Heaven in the bible is simply used to describe a more lofty or higher state of being, ence the white puffy clouds and sky symbolism used. Hell is the opposite. In fact the very word hell means the grave. It is used to describe nothingness or not being at all. Hence the symbolism of fire ashes and the second death spoken of in the book of revelations.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

So essentially Heaven can be described as eternal life with God, and Hell as eternal death or you simply cease to exist.

Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Basically when you die you ressurect to a higher level of being and exist in a dimension geater than this one.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its written that God is a god of the living i submit that when Christ returns all flesh will be done away with and only your celestial or angelic form will remain.

Mar 12:24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God?
Mar 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Mar 12:26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

It is in the Bible. You haven't seen it but if you read the Bible and you have a strong Faith to believe it, then you know how it is. It is the only place were there is no suffering, happiness all around, Jesus, God, Love, Praises to our loving Father, Songs, no pain, no suffering, nothing bad at all. I do not have any physical proof, but I know that is how it is because of my Faith.

You might not have to worry about it. Seriously God knows all and is preparing our idea of Paradise.Actually even better because it is greater than we can conceive.

Not that it actually exists....

But the thought of singing the praises of god for all eternity seems kind of pointless and boooooooooring. Why would anyone want to go there? Your god must have some low self-esteem issues if he needs sycophants butt-kissing him for eternity.

Not that it actually exists....
