Here's a list of saints to look at.

A number of girls are turning toward male confimation names (my own church has women who chose the names Sebastian, Valentine, Denis and Michael), but I'll give you some confirmation names selected by women I personally know (some from my family) :

Cecilia, Teresa, Apollonia, Mary Magdalene, Agnes, Maria Goretti, Rita, Agatha, Germaine, Susanna, Philomena, Joan of Arc, Dymphna, Scholastica, Constance, Crescentia, Claire, Rosalia.

Depends on how well it goes with the name now. Theresa, Perpetua, Joan, Catherine, and Elizabeth are some popular female saint names. You could browse a list of female saints to find an appropriate name that you like.

Mine is Teresa, after Mother Teresa and Saint Teresa of Avila. I think you should look up on the internet about different saints...see what they were the saints of, and choose a name for someone whose qualities would be good in your child. Pray it over, and you'll find the right name!
God bless!

Go to the following website - http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Saints/byname.asp - and click on the name of the saint and read about the saint. See if the life or what the saint stood for is what you believe is important.

did you recognize that your affirmation may well be comparable to one among your different names? Your center call is Frances, that's the female version of St. Francis of Assisi, between the neatest saints i know of. i might in basic terms circulate with sturdy previous Francis. he's one cool saint! And between the main basic and recognizable of the Catholic saints, even by skill of non-Catholics. different than that, my own well-known is St. Bridgit (or Brigid, or Brighid) of Kildare, eire. She replaced into one cool saint who replaced into the 1st female abbess interior the rustic of eire and who based a number of convents and monasteries.

Well, there's Anne, the Virgin Mary's mother, or Elizabeth, John the Baptist's mother. Of course you could go with Mary.

It's Confirmation, not Conformation... although Conformation made me laugh.

You are being confirmed into the Catholic church, not conformed...although some like myself would argue it's the same thing.
