Okay, ex dumped me a month ago. We never argued and she dumped me because she said that she needed to figure somethings out in her life. Her father died 4 months ago and she is in therapy. When she dumped me she said she was sorry because she thinks we had really good potential, but timing sucked becasue of her. I replied that I could not be friends because my feelings were too strong for her and needed time to get over her. I recently emailed her saying that I was sorry for any discomfort I might have caused in her life and hoped that we could email and talk every once inawhile. I basically wanted her to know that I was there for her if she ever wanted to talk. But I am thinking that maybe that is not a good idea, because now I am upset rethinking about the break up. What can I do? Should I try to be her friend now, or in the future??

You must not have loved her very much. A terrible thing happened in her life and when she needed space you were not caring at all. If you really love her you would have told her to take the time she needs and that you would be there for her to cry on your shoulder or to talk to. Going back to offer to be friends may be too late, she has seen the real side of you. If you stop to think about it it was really a selfish way to act. If you would have stayed with her she would have seen you as a sensitive guy that she could have counted on in times of trouble. I doubt if she will now. ♣
