Talk to your parents about it, or a guidance counselor & have them call child services.

Now it's the law. You have to report what is going on in that house. Because if your friend hits her grandmother back in self-defense then she will be in a dilemma. So the best thing is to get it or paper and see if she can be removed for that residence.

Talk to your friend. She needs to be the one to decide if it should be reported, UNLESS it's routine and she's really being hurt . If you report it to protective services and they DON"T feel it's an abusive environment your friend might turn against you for interfereing and it will most likely make things worse for your friend with her grandmother.

Wow, that is really sad. I know it didn't happen at school, but the adults at your school would be best able to help. Let someone at school know what's been going on, and they will take care of it. All you have to do is let an adult know. You sound very smart, and I applaud you for stepping out and CARING, instead of letting the abuse go on. Child abuse is a major crime, and needs to be reported.

You're probably still in school so you could talk to your guidance councilor. But what does your friend have to say about this? She should go with you.
