I want to get some nice PC speakers for my boyfriend for xmas. He has a new dell computer. He doesn't do much PC gaming, so it would mostly be for music (hip-hop, bass is really important!) Thanks!

Klipsch! No doubt about it. The Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 was the highest rated multimedia stereo speaker ever. Plus they do not cost a bomb. (Well maybe a tiny grenade)
The relatively new GMX A-2.1 look really cool and are bout 180 bucks US. Cheaper on Amazon.com maybe.
I've had Harmons and Altec Lansing, they're pretty decent but nowhere near Klipsch.

ah! so you don't want the best speakers where "best" means faithfully reproducing the audible spectrum. instead you want something with an exaggerated bass response.
