Booster cables are a good start... you should consider things like...

car jack
spare tire
first aid kid
road flares
blankets

you can buy roadside emergency kits that are ready to go... everyone should have them, but hardly anyone does...

i own a repair shop, and you should carry a blanket in there in case you get out and get stranded ,and also carry a good flash light ,and always have your cell phone with you, also id carry some water to drink ,,really anything that would help you during a brake down would help, some people carry a lot of things, just sit down and think what you might need and make your own kit up,that's the best way to do it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,and also a good first aid kit is very help full also.

An emergency kit. I live in a cold area, I carry a sleeping bag with me and a single shot shotgun. Make sure you have a jack and a tire that is aired up.

I would have a spare, a jack, some basic wrenches, a flashlight and an emergency kit.
