because they claim to be Christian, but in their last pamphlet "the end of false religion is near!' they called Jesus a liar. they also quoted that the end of false religion is near from the OLD TESTAMENT.
CHRISTIAN MEANS FOLLOWER OF JESUS CHRIST.

There are a few things to discuss.
1. For your question, many people, as has been noticed, don't know enough about their beliefs to defend them, so they attack anyway they can.
2. Jehovah's Witnesses ABSOLUTELY believe the Jesus died to redeem us from sin. They do not believe that he died on a cross, but rather a pole.
3. By definition, a cult is a group of people doing something (usually religious but not necessarily) different than the main stream. Please note, the religious leaders of the day considered 'those Jesus followers' of the first century to be a cult.
4. It might be irritating and annoying to have them knock on your door Saturday mornings, but that is what every Christian has been commanded to do. Read the Book. On that note, please understand that knocking on some stranger's door is not the easiest and most fun thing for anybody to do.
5. They do not push their religion, but they do make it available and known. You always have the option not to listen. As has been said also, some take 'No' a faster than others.
6. The mark of a Christian is that they have love for their fellow man. What more love can you display than to try and save someone from drowning in this world? (Short of giving your life, of course).

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems significant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

May it be that while other religions attract people using social programs, music events, and dynamic speakers, the witnesses only promise commitment to the teachings of the Bible and after Armageddon, 1000 years of hard work tearing down the last vestiges of the old system and rebuilding this old Earth back into a Paradise.

Jehovah's witnesses believe that only a certain amount of people will enter heaven, and that those people have already been chosen. and everybody that is here now and all that are born are all going to hell.. so in order to control you, all other religions denounce this belief...just think about it if you knew you were not going to heaven at all why should you care about your fellow man, in short you would lose your moral character..

Most people attack the JW's.I found this out when I recently made friends with a couple of them. They really are good people just have some quirks. They don't believe in blood transfusions, organ donations, birthdays, Christmas or that Jesus died on a cross. They will not serve in th military. They just march to the beat of a different drum.

Cause they "made" a different (so, false)version of the Bible!
They bother each other saturday or sunday ringing bells to try to make followers when nobody want to hear his doctrine!
They made a deviation of the true christian religion, the catholicism!
They cannot defend their basics of faith...cause they haven't!!!
In fact, they "turn around" in a sconvenient question that put doubts in their beleifs.
When somebody become one of them, if he try to come out, they remark him/her like a bad person, a devil personification....
They wrong sometimes families, when one of them became one of them, it made out of his way his family...according to Jeovah's witness said! INCREDIBLE and sad!
Definitely, this is a BAD RELIGION, many people leaved them cause they leave-off people from ougoing life, birthday party, social-family life, ecc. ecc. (there are TRUE facts of people oppressed by them that left them, they DON'T LIE)...
So, THIS IS A GOOD RELIGION?
I think it could fall down, sooner or later...his basics have no strong points.
They KNOW this, but won't admit.
Instead, Jews, Christians and Muslims have a very strong historical and reference and human basics that can PROVE the RIGHT of their Faiths...
Many false religions like sects were born and died quickly cause they were made from superstitions, no authentic revelations...
...like, instead, Jews, Christians and Muslim, with thousand and thousand years back to them!! And good references (Apostles or similar) and their successors along thousand and thousand years until now (Popes, priests and something like these)...
Bye!

All religions are the same, Dear one !
They all are the cause of what happenning in the world right now...
Most of things that are wrong in our world because of religions...
Jeohvah witnesses are as bad/good as any other religion when it comes to misleading the humanity...
People from other religions that are dissing Jeohovah Witnesses are as blind as those that they are dissing !

we are not a cult. a cult worships man. we worship Jehovah and Jesus Christ his son. we do what Jesus commanded us to do at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. we live in 235 lands. a cult lives in one state and lives together. we live in our own homes. holidays are pagan. man made. as far as the 144,000 going to heaven. look in the king james bible also. also read about the meek shall be here on the earth. in the king james bible also. we do not make things up. your preachers don't want to tell you these things

well to start they are one of the few churches that goes against the biggest beliefes of all other religions and they have been the largest group to go door to door to people making them feel like they are having that religion imposed on them. Since the dawn of time people have went to war over religious beliefs so its not suprise that every one would focus there discontent on them
