RE:
do sugared almonds have meaning when used in wedding favours?

Well the thank you card part is lame to me. You'll be sending out thank you cards after the wedding for guests so they would wind up with two thank you cards which is weird. Lottery tickets are only fun if you win on them. The ones that win only like $1 or don't win at all will be left in the tables. I think the animal crackers are cute. You could even get white chocolate and put food dye to make your colors on them and paint them some how. Animal crackers are by far the less tacky favor out of these two.

That 5 thing sounds good, but I always thought it was symbolizing taking to sweet with the bitter, the sweet being the sugar and the bitter being the almond itself.

There is traditionally five and they stand for something like: health, wealth, happiness and a couple of other things that i cant think of!
tbh they're not as common as they once were, people are tending to lean towards something a little different as favours these days rather than stick with tradition (eg me and my hubby used love hearts sweets that said "just married" on them)

Yes, they represent that with marriage you take the bitter with the sweet. Most commonly, Jordan almonds are called confetti and used in Italian receptions.

Yes, they are traditionally bundled up in 5's, one each to represent, health, wealth, happiness, longevity and fertility.

I believe I once read in wedding magazine that they used to use 7, but I can't imagine what the extra 2 represented.
