Yesterday at Albertson's, I was in bakery dept. and saw a lady accidentally knock two plastic clamshell containers of croissants off the display to the floor. I watched as she picked the loose croissants off the floor with her hands, put them back inside the containers....and set the containers back on the display!
(Surely, if she would have told store employee what happened, they wouldn't have made her pay, or?)

Do you have a retail or restaurant customer or employee misbehavior story to share?

(ps I told employee what happened, and I think--I Hope--he removed the "floor enhanced" croissants from sale!)

My ex worked in a supermarket deli. There was a walkway between the deli and backstock which had an old commercial fridge. It didn't run, it was only used for dry storage. He cleaned under it one day and found over a FOOT of dead roaches and bugs!!

I never ate there again, he told me too many horrible stories.

I have no problem with well-behaved kids but they are so few and far between that it's no wonder that kids aren't welcome anywhere anymore. Who is to blame? The parents who sit drinking coffee while their kids run riot through a shop and cafe and cause mayhem. The poor waiting staff are taking their lives in their hands trying to serve paying guests because if they spill hot soup on a child who has run into them, they can be sued! Parents, keep your kids in check and mothers, park your buggies with consideration and tuck your handbag handle under the table before someone gets hurt! Rant over but I still don't feel better. On the up side, when you do see well-behaved children (the exception these days rather than the rule) they are a pleasure to serve. When I was a child, if I bawled then I went outside for the duration of the meal and quite right too. People should be able to eat in peace. Life and society leave us so little time out that surely a half hour of peace for lunch shouldn't be too much to ask.

I've seen people put cold perishables back, but not in the proper place, so then when they're found, the employees put them back in cold storage and then people who buy these things wonder why they get sick from eating it.

There should be stricter laws against this sort of thing.
