I went the other week.. n put bets on the dogs that had the best names and they always won...

Always bet on dogs that have "Bale" in their name. They always get up!
Roughies get up a lot in dog races, so wait until there are 6 or 7 racing only, and put a quid on each dog other than the favourite (unless of course its paying better than 7 quid to win)
This is the best chance you have to pick up a roughy, and even if you lose, you still feel like a winner!
