Today, it threw up its dinner and it still has not passed the underpants. Other than that it seems ok. I was going to take it to the vet tomorrow.

He needs to go to the vet ASAP. I knew someone, too, whose dog died after swallowing an even smaller piece of clothing.

My black lab at about 10 months ate a tube sock, she passed it the following day, but had a hard time doing it..I felt so bad for her...but this continued until she was about 1 & 1/2 years old...we found nylons, beanie babies, underwear and some other unfamiliar items in her dog piles on our doggy doodie pick up days...The only concern is it getting wrapped around the intestines which could possibly happen, we were lucky....My neighbors 9 month old chocolate lab ate rocks recently and he just had a very large vet bill due to necessary surgery...I would do like you said you were going to do if the dog does not pass it by tomorrow take to the vet, just to be sure..could be stuck...I wish you and the puppy lots of luck...

try giving some mineral oil to help lubricate the intestine and underpants... This can cause blockage, in which the intestine clamps down on the underpants and shuts down the whole digestive system. Make sure that he is drinking and if he stops drinking get him to ER. Vet...ASAP... If he is drinking and not dehydrated then your probably OK to wait to tomorrow AM
For a little hope...Dogs usually pass everything (odd) they eat, on there own, but the vet is a must.

We had an old dog that used to eat everything from towels to t shirts. Just start chewing on them and would eventually eat parts of them. The yard would look like a rainbow with all the different colors. Watch him, make sure he poops it out soon. Make sure he's eating, and just watch his behavior. If he doesn't poop it soon, or anything else changes, need to go to the vet.

it never happened to my dogs personally but i work in rescue kennels and ive seen pants, socks, tin foil, even a peach stone pass through the other end. not what weve given them but obviously what they ve eaten before they ve come in to us. many objects do pass through within a couple of days. but if you no he/shes eaten the underpants you should take it straight to the vets to have him/her checked. youre dog throwing up its dinner sounds like theres a blockage and can be dangerous. dont wait until tomorrow have a vet see your dog asap.

Hasn't happened to me, your dog will probably be ok, if it got all the way down his throat it'll probably go all the way. If problems start then maybe you should see a vet then
