Firts of all well done for the weight loss,i'm trying to lose weight as well. One of the best exercises for toning the whole body is swimming.Varying strokes work well 5 lenghts breast stroke,5 lenghts front crawl,5 back stroke etc.Try to swim for at least 45 mins.Another good tone up exercise is running.Although exercise will tone you up well and fast,if you go onto unhealthy eating the weight will slowly go back on,then if you stop the exercise the weight will go on very fast and you will be back to square one.Good luck, don't lose what you have achieved.

Well done, for making so much difference!
However, you sound confused about what 'toning up' actually means.
'Tone' is something that muscles do. Increased tone means that the muscle feels more firm, or more tense.
It's not something that your diet can help you with; in fact a very low calorie diet will often weaken your muscular system and make you lose tone.
If you mean that the weight loss has left you with some loose skin, then this CAN adapt to your new shape, but only very slowly.
Your diet will help with this; you need a lot of seeds and fruit, so that you have plenty of Zinc & Chromium, Vitamin C, and B (B-complex) Vitamins. Vitamin A will be very helpful, too, but it can be toxic (especially dangerous if you get pregnant), so you should take most of your supply in the form of Beta-Carotene (although this is not so easily stored in your body).
Exercise will help too, but only indirectly. You need to keep stimulating the bloodflow through your skin, so that the process of adaptation is well supplied with oxygen and nutrients. Exercise (long, moderate endurance activities, like rowing and swimming) is more effective at this than massage or saunas are, but these 'passive' methods can help in the long run, too.
Most medics will tell you that your skin cannot 'shrink' to fit your new body shape, but a dermatologist will be able to reassure you that skin, like any other organ, adapts to any change in its surroundings. Large or sudden changes are more difficult to cope with than gradual, small changes, but with patience and consistency, it can be done.
Surgery is quicker, and may be more useful for some parts of your body, but it carries the usual risks.

WELL DONE!!!!!! I've lost some weight too and the best thing is exercise, pilates is gr8 for toning up and the added benefit is it is relaxing. Swimming helps all over tone. No doubt you know all of this, exercise is better than surgery at achieving the body you want because it's up to you and not someone with a knife, how much you take off, and it leaves you with more sense of achievement. Keep going with your healthy lifestyle but don't exhaust yourself xx

Everyone is different but it's quite common in people who have lost a lot of weight to need surgery because there is an excess amount of skin (especially around stomach and upper arms). If it's that kind of loose skin, it absolutely won't tone up without surgery and a lot of surgeons are reluctant to do surgery on young women who may want children in future because having kids ruins the effect of the surgery.
Congrats on losing the weight.

Nope. Try aerobics. Cosmetic surgery is only to be used as a measure of last resort.
