A tender nodular swelling of the eyelid is probably a "stye"
(hordeolum). It is an infected oil gland. Apply moist warm compresses for 10-15 minutes 4 times daily or more. It should eventually shrink or drain on its own. If the swelling spreads across the eyelid and there is increasing pain and discoloration of the eyelid, see your physician immediately, because of the possible spread of the infection. In that case, you would need systemic antibiotics.
An insect bite may also look like a stye, but usually has some itching.

Sound like a sty. Take a wash cloth & get it wet with the hottest water you can handle. Wring it out & hold it on the eye until the clothis no longer hot. Do this a few times a day. If the sty does not burst on it's own, if it stays sore or gets bigger, go to a doctor to be sure that it is nothing else. But I am pretty sure it is a sty.

it depends on the size, texture or appearance of the bump, i suggest you consult your doctor, it can be anything from a cyst, to a pimple to a boil, either way don't stress, it doesnt sound life threatening

It is a sty and can be treated with a hot cloth to pull the infection out. Also, my mother had better results with an ice cube applied to where she had that sty.

this no offence is a stupid question because there is no way we know what your eye looks like. we could all be carpenters or some profession that has nothing to do with your problem. i would just go to your doctor and he will probably recomend him to an eye doctor.
