Where I live in the U.S., bonfires used to be popular, but now all open fires are prohibited because of the potential danger of spreading, igniting fires where they shouldn't be, and air pollution. u r not allowed to have a bonfire on a sunday night...everyother night is ok thats y most councils have them on fridays or saturdays if bonfire night falls on a sunday
