Generally For the 79-93 Fox body mustangs the lx coupe(trunk style) is the quickest with the 5.0l then followed by the lx hatchback style, then the GT w/the ground effects and the slowest is the GT Convert.

Those two cars are the same thing. A mustang GT can be either a 4.6 OR a 5.0 liter. A 5.0 is faster in the quarter mile though.

Back in the 80's an LX would beat a GT. Testing found that the GT's spoiler created just enough drag to slow the car down. An LX didn't come with a spoiler.
Colera's right but you gotta consider who's driving too. If I was driving against you, you'd loose.
If either of us were driving against someone like..John Force, we'd loose!
Just cause it's fast doesn't mean it will win a race. Especially in drag racing.
Most drag races are won in the first 60 Ft.

as stated above, it depends on the years you are talking about. but for the record a stock 4.6L DOHC V8 would beat the 5.0

it would depend on what year and what factory modifications were done.
Not all same make and model cars put out the same #'s, you can put 2 2000 mustage beside eachother made at the same factory and one could stomp the other just out of pure dumb luck.
