Don't try drinking water - if you've got alcohol poisoning, and the hangover's kicked in, it'll just make you sick. Get some pure orange juice, and some dry bread. Nibble the bread and sip the juice in tiny amounts. You'll be able to keep this down, it will gradually make you feel better, and after about 5 or 6 hours you'll probably feel very weak, but much better. When you do, and you've stopped having the dizzy/sick/hot flush phases, eat something simple like scrambled egg on toast, to properly line your tum, without overloading it.

The down side is that the best cure is time. Things that help: make yourself puke if you have not already. You need to remove any alcohol that might still be in you. Follow this with slow sips of water. Give it some time then try some bread to see if you can hold that down. If you're good then take Advil. Drink more water and juices. They help replenish lost nutrients. DON'T drink sodas or coffee because they dehydrate you even more. A good part of the hangover is dehydration. Watch tv or movie to help take your mind off things.
Water, time, rest...
I feel your pain, good luck.

Back in the day, I used to take the following: A shark liver oil pill, a brewer's yeast pill, two aspirin, and a multi-vitamin. I think it was the "placebo" effect that actually worked. If I didn't have to go to work that day, I used to have another beer. (Then another, and another...) Just caused the same problem all over and made the shark liver, brewer's yeast, aspirin, and vitamin sellers some money.
Now the only way I can get rid of a hangover is to make sure I don't get one in the first place! (Lord save me from Demon Rum! But leave my beer alone!)

Water, aspirin, rest.
But here's the clue...the night you are drinking, slip a couple of Tylenol in the mix and you will wake up feeling fine. Also, drink water the day of and the day after. Drinking dehydrates you, so put those fluids back in your system as soon as you can. Also, give yourself a little pampering. Take a long bubble bath, or a hot steamy shower. You'll feel refreshed right away.
Hangovers are no big deal, just learn how to avoid them, and drink responsibly. :o)

McDonalds egg and sausage biscut, OJ, and 2 advil.
The grease in the Macdonalds food quells the sick feeling in your stomach as the advil goes to work on your head. Definitely don't drink anymore as that will only prolong your dehydratedness.

Drink lots of water to stop you dehydrating and get lots of rest. Don't drink fizzy juice that will make you sick with all the gas, you can also try tomato juice with a little Worcester sauce. A bit toast with a little scraping of butter or marg will help put a lining back in your stomach too. get well soon.
