Save yourself your worries, and you cat the pain, and make her an appointment with the vet.

First I would like to know how you know your cat has a toothache and what plans you have to take care of the tooth. An infected tooth can abcess and cause considerable pain so that the cat will stop eating - a very serious thing.

I just brought a 14 year old cat into my home. The vet had checked him over and saw he had serious dental disease. We scheduled a cleaning and extraction for a week ahead. When the cat was here for 24 hours I realized he was hardly eating at all. So we moved the "dental" up on an emergency basis. Then the bad tooth was pulled the vet said the pus shot out like a volcanic eruption. So we got it just in time before infection had spread throughout the cat's body and before his not eating damaged his liver.

If a cat has pain you can give the homeopathic medicine Arnica at 30C dosage, three times a day. This is just pallative and the cause of the pain must be treated by a vet as soon as possible.

Kittens don't usually go through a lot of teething pain. If she's crying alot and seems to be in pain, perhaps she's going into heat? It can happen at 4 months, if she isn't spayed yet.

I think you should make her an appointment with the vet to get some medicine for her toothache. In the mean time, don't give her any hard food. Do you have any soft food, tuna, etc. that you could give her? The best thing I can tell you to do is to make the appointment a.s.a.p. Hope this will help!

I know this will sound harsh but my older cat had the same plm and the vet took it out. He had some plms eating so I switched to soft foods. Thats what age does to ya I guess. It stops the pain it willl never go away until his tooth is gone. Vet should give him a pain medication also but somewhat pricey. I got mine for 40 bucks. Hope kitty feels better soon! :)

I hope you're planning on having the tooth removed because the pain's going to be there as long as the tooth is. To keep her comfortable until then, Orajel or whiskey (VERY small amounts of either) should help.

take some whiskey or bourban (not a lot) and put it on a towel/cloth.
hold your cats mouth open and rub a little near the gum. (not too much)

this is very harmless and will numb the tooth, you can do this with anyone, person/animal......my mom used to do it to me when i was teething and we did it to my dog when he broke his tooth.....

good luck!

ps. if it doesnt work, call your vet and he/she would know what to do.
