Thank goodness, no. Females go into heat about every 6 months. and the heat lasts for 21days.

The heat cycle of the female dog has three parts and lasts about 3 weeks. The first part lasts anywhere from 3-14 days during which a bloody discharge and swelling of the vaginal area are usually seen. Next the dog will become receptive to being bred and actively may seek out a male dog. This is the time when she can become pregnant. The discharge may change color at this time and become lighter. Finally, the discharge will become clearer, the vaginal swelling will diminish and the dog will no longer allow herself to be bred. While your dog is in heat you must watch her carefully to avoid unwanted breeding and subsequent puppies. If you are not planning on breeding your dog, please have her spayed to help prevent unwanted puppies. I will also lower her risk to several types of cancer.

No, the first heat will usually start between the 6th and 9th month of age.
Each heat will last an average of 21 days.
You can expect a heat cycle every 6 to 8 months unless you have her spayed. Then there will be no more heats.
There will be a variance between the times the heats begin and how often they occur, it will be slightly different with every dog.

I wonder where Steph L got her information, because she is WRONG, maybe she mis-understood the question.

No, about every six months and lasts for aprox. 3 weeks. It begins when female dogs(bitches) are 6 to 7 months old or 8 to 9 mths for larger breeds.

If she is entering warmth each and every 3-4 months there is something very incorrect along with her genetically. Its maximum suitable to spay her immediately. she gets pyrometra (an infection of the uterus) and that could kill her. do no longer attempt to reproduce her - and get your male neutered too.
