Time for a reality check. Listen to your family. Your family DOES know best. Your mom probably works her butt off making meals that are good for you, because she cares about you. Your family also shows that they care for you because you DON'T need to lose weight. You are 14 years old. You have MUCH more to worry about than your figure. (That's for 20 something supermodels) All you can do is make sure you are being HEALTHY. The weight will be the right weight if you practice healthy lifestyles. If you want to be HEALTHIER thats one thing but to lose weight is a little extreme. You need to stop saying you're fat. You are skinny and have a good figure. I'm going to trust your family on that one.

Ope, one last piece of advice here. ASK YOUR DOCTOR what he thinks. This will be the most solid piece of advice I can give you, so last but not least. Your doctor will tell you straight up that losing weight at your age should be the least of your worries. And, if it is true you need to lose weight, then he will help you do so.

I want you to let your mom know how you are feeling. Mom's are there for that. She will help coach you through it I promise.

Good luck, I hope things work out healthily for you. Losing weight at that tender age is unhealthy.

I have the same exact problem! You are now officially my friend. Isn't it difficult to live at this age in today's society? I try to stop eating so much, because even though people tell me I'm perfectly fine, I feel like I'm gaining weight or getting careless, even though I'm caring a lot more about it than I've ever cared before in my life. It's just that...in today's world, if you're not skinny and don't have the perfect figure, you're not beautiful. I just want to maintain my weight, but my dad tells me I'm getting too much into the craze and my parents force me to eat even when I'm not hungry. I just try to keep moving. Like in class, I move my legs and up and down and fidget, even though that's probably bugging some of my friends. I also keep on a pedometer as much as I can to regulate how many steps I take and increase the number.

I would say to you, you are far too young to think of losing weight, your body is still developing and growing, you could do yourself harm by depriving your body of the proteins and calories it needs right now. There is nothing wrong with a little extra weight on your hips and tum. It's called being a woman. We develop that curvy shape as our bodies get ready for having children at some stage in the future. Try to accept that your body is yours, and not meant to be like anyone else's. The most gorgeous women in the world all have curves; Beyonce, Shakira,Jade from Big Brother; Janet Jackson, and wow, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin. Perhaps you can go ahead and eat the dinners your mum makes, but avoid dessert ?Drink lots of water too, it will help you stay hydrated and healthy. You will be fine.

I have a 14 year old daughter, she too is "overweight" Her father and I are bigger people, not obese, but certainly not petite. All I can say is watch what you eat and try to be more energetic. I know it is hard, but ya also got to realize that your family genes have a lot to do with it. You seem like a beautiful person just the way you are, so don't let a little "fluff" on you change that. Keep your chin up, and remember you will change alot before you age, maybe you'll go back to your High School reunion and be the prettiest, slimmest one there.......it's funny to see how we all change after high school! Good luck sweety!

caloric intake has to be less than caloric output for you to loose weight. I recomment running or actually jogging. Running, works the legs, the ***, and the abs. It is great for your cardiovascular system. And it is a great fat burner. I know it's hard but if you really want to tone up you should do a few crunches each day before and after you run. I would start slowly and only run half a mile a few times a week, generally spacing out the days so you get a break inbetween runs. Then work up to five times a week and longer distances. Push yourself but make sure you don't hurt yourself and always stretch before you start. Good luck.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at

jog for about an hour at least 3 times a week

when i was in cross country running i ran about 4 miles each day except for saturday and sunday....i wouldnt run at all(but i was a slacker) but i maintained a good weight at about 115lbs and im 5'3"...but make sure you stretch before you run, because you could pull a muscle, and believe me, it doesnt feel good to pull a hamstring or a quad......

i think you should join a sport, dance, anything that gets you moving. Try to have something healthier every meal, or just a little of what your mom makes you to eat. Like only one serving! most people eat like 5 every meal cuz the food is just like soooo good! but that is how you do it. GET ACTIVE! EAT HEALTHY!
