Clumping litters are messy so I would suggest to changing litters. There is a relatively new product out there made from recycled newspaper. It comes in a pellet form so that it won't stick to your cats feet. I find it at petsmart or petco. When changing litter though, do it gradually, by introducing the new litter into the stuff you generally use for a few weeks before replacing it entirely. Cats are finicky about where they potty. Just like we are. I also used a large rubbermade storage box as a litterbox. I bought a 20 gallon container and cut a circular hole in the top for entry/exit. I also glued carpet squares on the top so the cat wipes his feet as he is leaving.

I've tried several different mats since getting our cat, and have finally hit on one that works pretty well. I can't remember the name or brand of the mat, but it's blue and rubber....with a lot of small, rubber loops like a real rug. I got it at PetSmart. It's done MUCH better than any other mat I've tried. One top of that, I keep a small stick vacuum close to the box to use for quick clean-up. I also have a covered box which helps keep the cat from kicking litter all over the place.

We have a tray with a lot of texture on it. Cats usually try to wipe their paws after using the litter box, and something with a rougher texture can get in between their toes. Sometimes litter gets stuck behind the foot pad and spreads around the house; the texture prevents this.

Hi put your litter tray ina cardboard box a little taller than the tray & a little larger...not too tall though as yopu don't want the cat to knock the tray over...tall enough for them to be able to see in without reaching if you see what I mean...like chest high to the cat...this will stop most if not all the litter from escaping...the wood type of litter is quite good for not spreading too much also...

toilet train the cat..get a flat box like what 6 packs of soda come in and put the litter in it.cut a small hole in the bottom of the box.gradually increase the size of the hole.then remove the box completely..your cat will then use the toilet and you wont ever need litter again.

Have cat? Will travel!
We have a long haired cat...and we get litter about, but usually just in the living room (sofa sometimes).
You could try vacuuming kitty when she is done...good luck with that!
Or just accept it as part of being a pet owner.

maximum folk with cats i comprehend have clutter tray interior the bathing room or bathroom, you may get ones with a roof so dont would desire to work out the mess, and human beings i comprehend dont actually have a clutter tray, their cats only flow exterior, relies upon notwithstanding in case you like a house cat or no longer, yet many times cats are very sparkling animals. basically factor i might say is the hair would get everywhere, in case you keep the tray sparkling and do away with poo quickly after the cats do it then there'll no scent.

Get a cat door put in, or have it in a high sided box. the cat door will be a godsend and allow the cat to come and go without you having to do it for them. you can get electronic ones that only open if your cat has the chip in its collar, keeping unwanted food raiding parties out.
