A tablespoon is larger. And just remember, the only dumb question is the question that is not asked.

A teaspoon is smaller than a tablespoon. Three teaspoons equal one tablespoon. Tablespoons are used for soup, or as serving utensils in a pinch. Teaspoons are normally used to stir coffee or eat soft foods like ice cream or puddings. In recipes, teaspoons and tablespoons must be exact measurements, and usually come as a set of four that nest together. The abbreviation for tablespoon is TBS, and teaspoon, tsp. This is where confusion arises in recipes. No, you are not a complete idiot. Either you're a new cook or a new bride, or both. Good luck!

Of course a tablespoon is bigger than a teaspoon! Here's a little rhyme I learned in elementary school to remember this (no that's not an insult) : With a tablespoon you can scoop your peas, with a teaspoon you can stir your tea!!
