Does anyone know how to remove the front speakers of a 1998 Toyota Corolla?

The speakers are locked into three different places but they are not screws or bolts; they look like inverted screws (with the coils going inward).

They may be spring loaded, try pushing in and see if the slide out of their slots. I just guessing from what you say.

Have you tried a 20 lb. sledge and a prybar?
