If so where did you go?

We used to go away every Christmas week. We would take the family and go to Las Vegas. Hotels were delighted to fill rooms at off-season prices (usually sending cards like "free rooms" or "$39 for a Casino suite") and cheap airfares were available if you booked early. If you had some flexibility on arrival time the airlines might have overbooked and any group that was willing to arrive an hour later than their original flight would get free tickets as compensation.

When Las Vegas got too overcrowded we switched to Tunica Mississippi. Closer flight and same Christmas-week welcomes.

Our Christmas was in Chamonix, France last season. Celebrated at the town centre on the eve with the locals. There was a huge Xmas tree, Santa Claus, free food and drink, and a Christmas market - so I guess the itinerary was complete for Christmas...
Beautiful place - went up Mont Blanc, found out what glacier really was and endless skiing!!! FANTASTIC!!

My mom and dad moved away to Sun City, Arizona after my dad retired. He was immediately diagnosed with lung cancer just prior to Thanksgiving. I went down there to be with them and make it very special and possibly last Thanksgiving. (I am from the midwest and so it's starting to get cold in Nov.)

On a happier note, my husband and I once went to Hawaii in November, too

We've also been to the Gulf Coast of Florida in Nov. It's a nice time to get away! .

When we were single, a friend of mine and I used to take in the Lions game every Thanksgiving (Neither one of us wanted to be around our stuck up families). We did this for 13 years straight. That changed when we both found wives.
