Im really not confident (too self conscious) and am COMPLETELY not cocky, but all the girls I know like cocky type guys, why is this? Do I have to act like an ape to get your attention?

Nope you don't have to act silly like they do . You act like you and that is just fine. Sometimes guys like a natural girl and its perfectly fine being that way. If the girls are telling you to act like them thats rather sad. Do you wish to be a clone of others or do you want to be you.
Some cocky guys are not really worth knowing. sometimes guys act like that because they are not confident in themselves and think that they have to behave in that manner. In time maturity really helps a great deal with their behavior.
its fun to be silly and do things naturally as well.
Do what you feel comfortable in doing.

Y would U want 2 b like some one else?? If all Ur friends r cocky, then U'll stand out from the crowd. It sounds like Ur a bit shy, and that's fine. Just know that out of all Ur cocky friends Ur the only 1 who isn't, some girl will notice U from Ur group and pick U. Ur already different cause Ur not like Ur friends, which makes U special from the rest.

Those are the type of girls who want what the guy has, like money. Don't worry about them, because you don't want the ones that will mess over you. You are just looking in the wrong place. Acting like an ape will attract the ones that will treat you like an ape. So if I were you, I would be myself and wait for the right person to come my way.

if ur not confident they u don't have wots call prizablity
its horrible but true since ur not confident when u do get attention it will be true and special so u'll be fine

girls like a guy who is confident because most girls have a low self esteem the guys confidence could rub off on them in the form of compliments

Yeah, I like guys with a certain arrogance. Since I'm quite arrogant myself, I'd need a worthy adversary. Besides, it's better than dating a p-ussy.

HELL NO. I hate conceited / cocky guys. It's a big turn-off.
Then again, don't act like you have no self-confidence.
That's another turn-off.
