My sister married a man, and found out 6 months later, he was a pedophile and an abusive, contolling husband. She left him, but found out she was pregnant. She wanted an abortion because her husband's (juvenile) record had be expunged, so the court granting custody would not know he was a pedophile.
She knew that he was still a sexual predator based on their sex life and the way he talked about women and children. If she had had his baby, he would have had unlimited access to the child and had power over her life to this day. Her life and the child's life would be hell, and the child would have grown up with so many problems because of the sexual abuse.
Do you think god would condemn her for protecting herself and the child? Or do you really think that god (should he/she/it exist) sees the world in black and white, missing all the greys?

For bigez...
According to the laws pertaining to adoption (at least in this state), a mother cannot give a child up for adoption unless the father signs as well. If she tries, the child can be pulled away from the adoptive family and given to the husband if he takes it to court. In this case, the husband would have.

And for all of you who think that god would have protected the baby, are you unaware of the rates of child molestation in this country???? Are you also unaware that many of the perpetrators are related to the victim in some way- usually fathers or uncles?
How do you remain so much in the dark???

Grandma Susie,
I know they did not have DNA testing when you were young, but these days....
Where could she have gone? Really. She was going through a divorce. She had not reported abuse because she was scared of retaliation, so once again, courts and the organizations who help abused women and children would not have been a resource.

Let's say that was me in that womb. Personally, I would not want to die that early. I'll take my chances!
I think you are mixing up a lot of issues and questions.
Look, if there is a creator, and a lot of people truly believe this, for many good reasons, then He creates each of us for a reason. Who are we to also play God.
I know some people do not believe this, and they will make their own choices. And no one knows what the judgement will be. You assume alot.

Interesting story, but so many holes in it, sorry.
First, if he was abusive and a pedophile, it would still be brought up in court, even if expunged from his record, because it would be entered as the reason why she didn't want him to have custody.
Secondly, she could quietly go off, have the baby and put it up for adoption, claiming no knowledge of who the father is. It can be done, and would save the life of the child.
Third, she could take the child and move far away from him, where he had no access or knowledge of her or the baby.
The point is, love would find a way. She had no love for her child, and that is what God would judge, not her actions, but her heart.

OK this is a very weird situation! Say she had the baby, The courts would not grant him custody because of the kind of record he has! She could have the courts protect her and the child! She should really seek counseling for this! This is a stick situation! If she does have the Abortion, she can ask God to forgive her for what she did! Now after that She would NEED to get some type of counseling after that! It would probably be alot for her to handle either way! Like i said before It is a sticky situation!

You made a lot of claims about this man, and I'm assuming that you're repeating what your sister said (especially if his juvenile record has indeed been expunged).
You make a lot of assumptions (predictions) about his future, again it seems based upon your sister.
You make the prediction of "so many problems" because "of the sexual abuse".
All of this to rationalize her decision to abort the fetus?
What evidence do you have that ANY of this is true? What evidence do you have that ANY of your predictions are valid? What evidence do you have that the court system would sit idly by and just let things happen? Probably none reading your "question".
Again, it all looks like an attempt to rationalize a decision to abort a fetus.
You're attempting a claim that KILLING the fetus is the same as PROTECTING it. Please re-read what you've written.
Yes, I truly do believe that your sister will be judged on this act.
This is one of the saddest questions I've seen on Y!A.
I will pray for your sister.

How would she be protecting her child by killing it? If you say, "to avoid the hell of having it's father being in it's life", then do you support killing of all abuse victims, since death is preferable to having been abused? It makes no sense.
Besides, if the man is abusive and a pedophile and your sister can prove it in court, the courts will not grant custody to him.

i would have an abortion if i were her, because in 7-15 years i would not want to be wishing i had,you should not take chances with someone that could, possibly endanger a child's life, adoption is no better, the child could be exposed to the horrors of being shuffled around foster homes, the best thing she can do is have an abortion,it will save that child the possible dangers of growing up abused, which continues the vicious cycle,it has to be broken somewhere.i know that sounds harsh, but reality normally is.

God does not want the child to suffer of being murder, as God has plans for such a child of his thoughts, there was a reason to why God planned it that way... the Child's parents.
It's not Black and white if she can ask for forgiveness if she murders the child, and be forgiving.

If your sister is really going for an abortion, who's protecting the baby from your sister? One should protect the innocent and not harbour the wicked/criminal. Your sister should report her husband to the police. A crime is a crime is a crime. There is no greyness here.

You have already predicted a future, where the child is unprotected and does, indeed, get molested.
You have no proof that this is what would have happened had the child been born.
If one wants to use the "abortion as protection" theory, then arguably every fetus should be aborted, since everyone who is born suffers harm in this world.
As far as what God will do with regard to these people, ask him.

God does exist, and He does not want anyone to murder a child for any reason. All that stuff is not a reason, she could have said it wasn't his, she didn't have to tell him she was pregnant, she could have moved, there are any number of things any woman who is half way decent could have made a good life for her child. She didn't want the baby, end of story. Don't make excuses for infanticide, none of them are worth listening to.
