Very possible he still could have gotten worms. Or, he could just have an itch.

If he repeatedly does it (more than a day or two) take him to the vet.

Several possibilities present themselves:

1. The worms or wormer, caused irritation in the anal area.

2. The wormer didn't work fully. Sometimes it takes more than one application.

3. If the worms were originally caused by fleas, a strong possibility, the fleas may well be back and causing irritation.

sorry, but just 'cause he was de-wormed doesn't mean he's cured. I had a cat that took 6 doses 'cause he had more than one kind of worm and was RIDDLED with them. take a stool sample to your vet asap. when they give the treatment they go by the dog's weight and sometimes they're afraid to give too much if they're young/small/underweight, so he's probably still got worms

They sometimes do that when they have a normal itch down there. I tcould be fleas or poison ivy/oak/sumac. If he was just de-wormed then there really isn't anythign for you to worry about.

It means his butt is itchy or he may have compacted anal sacs(I'm not kidding). The vet can take care of the compacted sacs issue for you and may even show you how to do it if you are so inclined. View the source link for additional info.

It means his anal glands are impacted. A groomer or vet can express the stuff. (A vet does a more thorough job.) Your dog will give you hugs and kisses after this is done.

maybe his bum itches. dogs arent able to properly clean themselves after going to the bathroom so they rub their bums on the carpet or the grass to remove anything left behind.

It can also mean his anal glands are blocked. You can get them "unblocked" at your vet or local groomer. You have to squeeze the stuff out, not a pleasent thing to do or smell.....

is it a male dog sometimes male dogs have these glands that need to be squeezed...its kinda gross...your vet can determine if that is what needs to be done and can do it for you and can also teach you to do it yourself
