If you love him, talk it out with him. Let him know how you feel. If he really loves you, he will be able to understand what you are saying. You might want to consider why the relationship is unhappy. Is it his fault or your's or a little bit of both? Sit and talk it out. Probably give yourselves a chance after talking it out. And dont make the mistake of trying to set EVERYTHING right in the first talk. There are often cases of misunderstanding where I have seen many couples try to expect the other person to be perfect overnight. It doesnt work that way!!! Identify a problem, find the solution, try to work on it. Set a time frame within yourself where in you would like to fix it. Give it a shot. If it works, well, good for you. If it doesnt, you might want to call it off - or if youre really serious, give it one more try. But please - not too many chances, because you will get old trying, if you keep trying and it doesnt work :-)

That is so tough as I have been feeling like that also for a couple years!! I keep staying and trying to work things out for my kids sake as I never want to hurt them. What i try and do is to just keep sitting down and talking with him and letting him know what makes me unhappy (it does cause some arguments) but, at the same time there are some good times. Lots of times unhappy but sometimes happy ~ If you really can't work it out and stay sit down talk to him and be honest letting him know you love him but are unhappy and maybe things will work out for you. It is very difficult when you still love someone and are unhappy. It is so easy for some people to just say "leave him" but they don't understand until they are in your position. My hubby knows I am not happy all the time but he does try to make little changes to make me more happy. I truly wish you the best of luck and if you ever need to talk just email me.

Unhappy relationship can be caused by boring situations. Sometimes people are trapped with regularity works or regular daily life. That makes him/her boring and unhappy with that situation. Similar with relationship, it can be so boring because of the regularity and similar performance. It should be dynamic and change every time. Surprising is another way to make relationship more dynamic with happiness.
You can tell him to solve this problem together. That's better to know each other and solve your problem together. You will happy and love each other.
But if that still can work, I think you have to change your situation. You can separate from him for awhile to make you fresh, and then you can meet your lover when you've ready. Separate doesn't mean keeping out of your relationship. Almost the separate lovers will realized how love they do and it makes them miss each other. This solution always works but it depends on the motivation behind.
So, what do you think?

You get out by leaving him. If you want to try first then talk to him and tell him these are the changes that need to be made if we are to stay together. Make it clear to him that you are not happy. If then he doesnt change for the better than you just have to tell him its over. Dont stay in an unhappy relationship. There are alot of men out there who wil treat you the way you deserve to be treated. Never settle for just anyone.

if you are more UNHAPPY than HAPPY, then make that move to end it. with time, you feel better about your decision. it is very difficult to leave situations/relationships that we are COMFORTABLE in, because we are FAMILIAR with it ~~ regardless if it's painful or not~! good luck

Tell him you're unhappy, and you feel you should split - if you're unhappy it's for the best.
