yes a lady can get pregnant while not on her period, actually that is when you do get pregnant, there are some cases when women have gotten pregnant while having there period though. but usually women have a 28 day cycle and its about two weeks after you had your last period until right before your next period that you are most fertile, and actually when you ovulate and the egg is ripe there is only 24 hours mabye 48 at the most that you are the most fertile and the sperm can live inside a women for a couple days, so even if her egg is not ripe if it comes ripe in a couple of days, the sperm that is already in there can make her pregnatn, hope that this helps some, god bless
