Use quality shampoos and conditioners specifically for your hair type, plus an intensive conditioning treatment on a weekly basis and have a trim every eight to 10 weeks to prevent loss of condition and split ends.

Straight with a sleek, smooth, shiny finish is the ideal raw material for creating perfect ponytails, chignons and wraps, but ditch the straighteners and get to grips with radial brushes to achieve a more hair-friendly flexible straightness.

Ask your stylist for some pointers. Hairdressers sometimes talk about optimum hair length, where hair grown beyond this point seems to lose condition, so do be prepared to sacrifice some of your ambitions if professionally advised to do so, as slightly shorter and shiny is more attractive than super-long but with a straggly, Catweazle effect.

hey.. i have really long hair too. Is yours straight and easy to manage? If it is then i reccommend buying a few hair clips.. not to do anything complicated with, but a few small ones can scoop it out of your face slightly and give it more of a natural curve at the top of the length of hair.

One of my favourite things to do is to pull hair from the front (near the forehead) backwards and secure with a pretty (larger) hair slide, grip or clip. This can look mumsey but if your hair is long and straight or wavy it can look chic and more interesting than just leaving it hang. A pretty, glittery clip at the back is a good idea.. not just a boring standard brown or black one.

Oh and I also am a fan of sidepartings.. they complement long hair well.

Hope this helps!

Ally had some nice ideas. Also look in hair style magazines for ideas. I would suggest though, that you cut off a few inches and donate it to 'Locks of Love'. an organisation that donates hair pieces to children who have lost their hair due to different reasons.
Then your hair will probably have more body and you can get some nice layers cut in.......and you will feel good about yourself for doing your part!

Ive read other answers.. Dont cut your hair, anyway its beatiful. If you have problems with it and you would like some help, consult professional hair stylists before taking drastic actions. Im sure they will suggest you better ideas than cuting. Check this website:

Why not invest in some curling tongs. Just a few strands of curled hair can make the world of difference!

I had a long hair too.but I cut it last year and now I regret.I suggest you not cutting it.just the end of it and don't use gels so much.your hair will start falling soon.if you decided to cut it , do it in a way that doesn't reduce the height of it... :D

try getting your hair cut to mid back. it will be easier to manage and won't come as such a shock as long hair combined with height. also try to pull back the top half of hair into a clip or hairtie. it will look really good

Cut it at least like 4 inches and get it layered. If your hair is being impossible one day put it in a high ponytail.

shop your long hair. I even have mine. Get a e book on french braiding. you does no longer have self belief each and all the combnations that i will do. 0.5 braids, interior out, pulled low, pulled intense. additionally, get a great number of distinctive clips.

Lose a bit of the length - cut it shorter at the sides and go for the "fem-mullet" look. Worked for me.
