The red can only lie, the green, only tell the truth.
He sees two natives on the shore. But they are in the deep shade and he can't tell their colors.
He calls out "Are you red or green?"
The first native answers, but his answer is lost in the rush of the waters and the explorer asks "What did you say?"
The second one answers "He says he's green. He is green and so am I."
What are the colors of the natives?

In answer to the question "Are you red or green?" , everyone will say "I am green", the green natives because it is true, and the red natives because it is not true. No one will say, "I am red." So when the second native says, "He says he's green", that is a true statement, and thus the second native is green. Then it follows that his second statement "He is green and so am I" is also true. The explorer can be sure that both the natives are green.

they could either be both green or both red. they cant be one red and one green because if the first one was green and the second one was red, the red native would be telling the truth AND be lying, and it can only lie, and if they were both green the 2nd one would be telling the truth about both of them. they could also be both red and the second one is lying about the first one being green and him being green. i know this sounds confusing but its hard for me to write it in words. hope you understand

The second one who speaks is green. By repeating that the first indian said he was green he is telling the truth.

Both are Red.The first lied that he was green;the second reinforced his lie.....by sayin that he was green and so was the other one........And they both have to be the same color,coz they wont go together with such diametrically opposite tempraments.

i think they are both green.. if the first is lying than the second cannot been telling the truth.. so, they must both be green...
