You can if you want to. Just read this book by Shakti Gawain "Creative Visualization" and also "The power of your sub-conscious mind" by Joseph Murphy.
This are powerful books that can change your life positively.

First important point ... NEVER STARVE. Then completely cut off sugar and fats. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Do meditation and pranayam. You will then become a radiant being full of energy and dynamism and even as you will look slim and beautiful.
Take brisk walks for everyday for half an hour twice a day. Drink enough glasses of water and juices. Also take your evening meals early. Avoid eggs and non-vegetarian foods.
There is more but to start with this is good.

Without a proper diet and exercise program, you can not lose weight. Instead of 3 meals a day, eat 6 SMALL meals. Drop your carb and fat intake, as it is obviously too high. Cut out ALL sweets... no more deserts. Treat fast food like the plague that it is... in other words, don't do it! Drink LOTS of water, drink NO sodas. Up your activity level and get on an exercise program 5 days a week. You may not want to exercise now, but after a week or so of it (especially once you start seeing results in strength, endurance, and physique) you will find it addictive and you will have no trouble maintaining it.

being an indian has nothing to do with loosing weight.....
make a list: what you eat on an average week
cut out the highest calories
start exercising.... walk instead of drive, do everyday tasks quicker, so you get a sweat on.
eat the monstrously horrible tasting green vegetables... 5 portions a day, drink lots of water to flush toxins away from your system.
tip: drink 2 glasses of water before your meal, you wont eat half as much
do not eat after 7pm

This works great for me..
Try do any kind of vigorous exercise 3x a day for 15 minutes. I power walked, went up and down my basement stairs, raked leaves, jump rope, anything to get my heart beating.
It takes commitment but it works. It has something to do with keeping your metabolism working.
Also I kept away from white sugar products. For me white sugar gave my body an energy burst that doesn’t last and drained me after my sugar high was over. It was very hard for me to get over the sugar withdraw the first 3 days . It took about a week to get my body trained.
I went from size 14 to size 10 in about 5 months. STAY AWAY from McDonalds, Chips and Crackers.. " these gave me sugar cravings HUGE" I have fallen off the diet wagon and feel low energy but now you have motivated me to get in the swing again. Thanks

eat a high fibre diet, excercise for 40 minutes everyday, cut out the sweet and fried stuff and drink more water. don't go on a crash diet, you'll gain the weight back in 10 days when you stop and you can't live your entire life without eating, right??
