Pretty much dodge man and the other two are correct... It would have to be one hell of a short to get the lights to stay on... (mainly the door switches stuck closed together when they aren't supposed to could be considered a short)

But as the others said, check the dome interior light first... roll the rheostat a few times hard back and forth to clean it and make sure it's not on the notch that turns on the light.

Also move back and forth those door switches and make sure they aren't sticking either (either for the doors or the hatchback)
as both the lights will come on to either the door switch or the dome light switch.

Usually a car that doesn't have things used like yours has problems like this all the time.. and you need to go out and move stuff around on the car to insure no sticking.

The headlight switch overrides the door switch to keep the dome light on. Reinstall the bulbs, close the door, and rotate the light switch knob until lights go off. Some dome lights have a 3 position switch on the light. Check to see if it does. The positions are: on all the time, off all the time, on when door is opened.

Sounds like a short somewhere. Just remove the battery terminal so the short won't drain the battery in storage.

i own a repair shop and this is common when you store one for the switches to stick on it,i think that might be what happened to yours, id try and lubricate the door switch and the hatch switch before i took it in ,it might free them up some, other wise it isn't going to be an expensive repair but i had one in storage and similar things happened to it also ,so i wouldn't worry to much about it,good luck,i hope this help,s.
