Some people use the argument that you should believe in god "just in case", because if there isn't one, oh well, and if there is then your screwed. I disagree. If I waste my life trying to please some pixie in the clouds that I know does not exist, then that does not sound like fun. If I live by my rules, then I have a great life. If there is a god and hell, well I still had a happy time while I was alive. If there is no god, then my whole existence was fun. If you are atheist, you will have a great time no matter what. So to be safe, maybe we should all be atheists. There is less risk, more fun, and we can speak in full sentences using proper English. As you pointed out, we can use logic.

I am a Christian an I personally
1.support stem cell research
2.am pro choice
3.don't care about a persons beliefs, religion or sexual orientation.(I do know ALOT of atheist gay bashers by the way)
4.also think science and logic rocks!
5.don't bicker about verses in the bible with anyone(I believe what I believe..I don't have to sway anyone to my beliefs and I don't enjoy being told I'm wrong...so I try not to discuss it....I do have to frequently walk away though when atheists confront me and start quoting the Bible saying it's wrong when they find out my beliefs)
As a Christian...
6.I am at peace with myself and my god
7.I accept everything that LIFE not GOD sends my way and and rely on my faith in bad times(which 90% of the time pulls me through)
8.I am content with my life although I am not rich and do not have things that others do
9.I am a more understanding and compassionate human being towards my fellow man since I became a Christian
10.I feel good about myself knowing there is a god that loves me.

Atheists can enjoy the life that they really do have and focus on being an effective agent for either change or stability in the world, instead of wasting life as the religious do. The religious put the focus on "laying up treasures in heaven" while being content to let the world become rather like hell.

I could give you pages of reasons but the best one is that I am not a slave to superstition and allow myself to think freely and clearly.
Nor do I have to spend my life performing the mental gymnastics needed to explain religious belief.
Atheism is very very liberating.
I'll tell you something: the day I took the fictional God out of the picture, everything became clear. It was as if the floodgates of knowledge and reason had opened up. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.

From the atheists I have seen here, they do not follow your #3. They seem obsessed with proving that God does not exist, rather than just believing he doesn't. And quite frequently call Christians names and label them with a lot of ----shall we say--uncomplimentary labels. Respect is a two way street.
When your life is done, as an atheist, does it scare you to think there is nothing more - nothing, just oblivion. I would hate that idea.

No, I sure can't. But I can tell you some good points about being a true believer in God's Word the Bible.
A true believer in God's Word:
Knows who created him and this wondrous universe
Knows that if everyone followed Bible principles, there would be no war, no divorces, no hatred for one's fellow man.
Knows the reason why we get sick, grow old and die.
Knows how AIDS and other STD's can be stopped.
Knows what it takes to raise a happy family.
Knows the meaning of world conditions.
Knows where life came from.
Knows why we are here.
Knows where to find wholesome associates who truly love one another.
Knows how he can be happy in spite of difficult conditions that surround him.
Knows that God's Kingdom, his government, will remove the present wicked system, and under its rule mankind will enjoy perfect health and eternal life.
Surely a book that claims to be from God, that explains both the meaning of world conditions and the purpose of life, and that shows how our problems will be solved is worthy of consideration.

I'm allowed to believe that human beings are basically good and that life here on earth is good and meaningful.
If I do something good, I can feel good about.
I can see babies as beautiful innocent creatures.

No worrying about going to Heaven or Hell, being judged in front of a higher being, or having to see those people who annoyed you so bad during life. just death with no afterlife.

I agree with you. Basically, the advantage is not having to follow the instructions and directives given by PEOPLE, (i.e.: peers) in the name of an alleged god.

they don't hate or kill people in the name of a god.
they embrace logic and reason, rather than dismiss them
they aren't brainwashed from birth with institutionalized idiocy and cult mythology and rituals
