In one sense it doesn't affect me since - Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity - is an injunction to all. God is the judge.
In another sense it may affect me ( and I don't know if this particular person is guilty of anything or resigned to limit criticism of the movement he was in ) because - by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
My concern is more that the message of salvation for needy souls is not compromised and people put off from considering the glories of Christ.
Certainly haters of Christ will take every opportunity to detract from Him and to hide behind an empty excuse for their hatred, but they will do this anyway, even to the point of making up lies - as we can see even on Yahoo Answers.

There is more of this going on than anybody cares to admit (or acknowledge).
Rev. Ted Haggard exposed his own hypocrisy, beginning with all of the lies that he was telling, denying everything, and then gradually admitting some truths. If he is so happy that the accuser failed PART of the lie detector test, then let Haggard take his own lie detector test AND a drug test!
As it turns out, it is reported that the accuser will repeat his test, because due to stress, not sleeping or eating, they believe that affected the results.
Isn't it amazing how some people can stand there and make this big noise about the sins of other people, and get all kinds of cash donations for a tax-free institution and then go out and blow it all away. This is the ultimate hypocrite.
However, it has happened before and this certainly will not be the last time it happens. For example, Paul Crouch (head of Trinity Broadcasting, husband of pink-wigged money-begging Jan Crouch) paid off a male companion years ago to keep it all quiet. Here is a video from Fox TV (youtube), and an article:

I am saddened for both him and his family. Obviously, it's a terrible thing to live two lives in opposition to each other. I don't know why he was placed in the position he was in, nor do I know why his fall came at this time and place. I am also saddened to watch all of the vultures swarm over his fall. But, it's all human nature.
I pray for all involved in this.

Religion is about God. Churches are about individuals. You can get preachers, imams, priests and popes who turn bad. You can get evil men posing as preachers, imams, priests and popes. None of this has any bearing on religion. God sends us all sorts of nutters and we have to make the best of working with them.

We are to put our faith in God not man. A man is not impervious to temptation and sin. God will never let you down but with a man you never know.

Most people that sin, know they are sinning.
Most protestant religions teach that all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and it will be achieved. That's why they continue to willfully sin, thinking they are above impunity.
The Bible teaches otherwise.
