I have a couple: fried PB and banana sandwich, though I make a lower fat version with Pam, instead of butter. After I "fry" it up, I sprinke cinnamon and Splenda on the outside of the sandwich while it's still warm. With a big glass of soy milk, it hits the spot!!

I also like cheesy smashed potatoes - I can eat a big bowl, and mac& cheese is wonderful, as well. Pizza also tops the list of foods I want when I need comfort food or just feel like eating bad for that day. I let myself do that maybe once every other week. I love ice cream, too...Cold Stone Creamery is a trip I take every few months.

There are a LOT of comfort foods for me, so I'll just talk about a few of them.

From-scratch potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce - I make this maybe twice a year.

Pork chops with sauerkraut, apples and onions - I make this probably four times a year.

Soft polenta with cheese; probably six times a year.

Odd as it may sound, a banana sandwich made of wholegrain toast, with butter and brown sugar OR with peanut butter and butter. (I find pb too dry on its own).
Also, tomato soup. Canned or home-made, it is the ultimate comfort.
I don't eat these v. often, just on those days that I have the ingredients and am wishing I were "this many" years old again.

Mashed potatos and gravy made with butter, whole milk. Don't eat it anymore. Make the healthy kind. Also like grilled cheese and tomato soup and chocolate cake. Nothing healthy of course. Oh and cucumber, peanut butter and mayo sandwiches (don't knock it til you try it)

popcorn.. the microwavable buttered kind. It is so comforting and morish.. but light! It's made all the more enjoyable because my uncle stole my mircrowave so I either have to wait to go and stay with someone who has one, or rely on the goodwill of my neighbours.

Ready salted crisps dipped in philedelphia cream cheese.. extra extra fatty when put together (but soooo good!)

anything with cheese basically (cheese on toast in particular)

mashed potatoes with roast chicken.. something warm and reassuring that reminds me of home and sentimental stuff!

tomato soup made with 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup milk. I eat it whenever I just need a little pick-me-up in the winter.

my favorite is shrimp, maybe once every three or four months (time and money constraints) but my comfort food goes back to my childhood, grilled cheese and tomato soup (has to be campbells, but only 1/3 can water) and deluxe grahams out of the freezer (weird i know, but we used to keep them on ice at the lake so they wouldn't melt)

Mine is marmite on toast or warm nutella sandwiches. I try to save the nutella ones for the winter but I have one or the other at least once a week.
