"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." Dan Barker, Christian minister for 19 years, now an atheist.

That's a loaded question. First off I am unaware of any person killing for God. Now perhaps some have killed for their religious leaders. (There is a difference). But I am unaware of any Christian telling anyone God wanted them to kill, unless they were insane. I would make a distinction of someone in an army defending himself. But is it possible for a scientist to kill. Any honest person would say yes just as it is possible for a Christian to lose it and kill some one. Every person has the capicity to lose their temper and cause a fatality. As much as most people are unlikely to, to think they would never kill is more a product of bias.

Scientests kill for science every day, abortions, cloning, stem cell research, etc . Christians do not kill for God, they aren't asked to. God has the power of life and death, why would He "need" someone to kill for Him?

IF a Christian killed for God, it would be because God used them to get rid of the evil. The two cannot be compared because God will always be our creator, and He will always be greater than we are and ever will be.

No, not broad spectrum murder like that in the name of god.

However, animals are injured and killed in the name of science. Than again, they're killed and injured in the name of food too.
