it's easy. the make, model and year of your car are on your regitration. for example, if you have a 2007 nissan sentra, the "make" is nissan- the auto manufacturer. the "model" would be the "sentra" part, and whatever extras you have (if it's something different than the regular model - like the SE edition or how some jeeps are Eddie Bauer.) the model year is actually the year it was made for, most model years come out around the Sept before the actual year starts (2007s are available for purchase already.) If you're not sure what year the car is and you don't have the title or reggie handy, you can contact your local dept of motor vehicles with the VIN # (vehicle identification #) it's on a plate waaaaay in front of the dashboard (usually in the driver's side corner) and you can see it from outside the windshield. some cars have it on the plate inside the driver's door frame, but it depends on the car maker.

The year the vehicle was actually made by the manufacturer. You can usually find the year on the inside of the drivers-side door where it meets with the body of the car....in plain site usually inscribed sideways. States, bodyshops and everyone else always go by the year the manufacturer made the vehicle. You can also visit carfax.com and put in your VIN# and it will tell you the year of the car as well. good luck.

It is confusing. The make of a car would be a Honda, Ford, or Mercedes. The MODEL would be Pilot, F-150, or M350.

Model is just that, the model.

Chevrolet Suburban.

Chevrolet = Manufacturer or make
Suburban = model
