This means she isn't getting enough of the vitamins and minerals she needs in her diet. Give her a vitamin twice a day and talk to your vet about it. Also, give her plenty of things to chew on. She is cutting new teeth constantly and chewing rocks just helps her do that. Dentabone's work well (but they don't last long!!!). You can get everything you need at Wal-Mart, but if you feel the need then go to a pet store. Also, do talk to your vet about this.

Do not let her eat rocks! Not only is it bad for her, it can get stuck in her digestive tract and need surgery to fix. Since she has already done it and is throwing up, an xray should be done to make sure rocks aren't already stuck in there. Some dogs have a tendency to eat foreign objects, especially as puppies, so you will need to watch her at all times. When she starts to act like she will eat one, make a loud noise so she will drop it. Also, if u are even just going to the bathroom, put her in a kennel so she can't get into trouble. Good luck!

My dog did this for a while. Enforcing it is really the only way to stop it. Watch your dog carefully, and when ever he/she gets a rock, take it away and firmly say No, when tapping its nose. After a while hopefully the dog will get the message. Also, try and remove any rocks around, and give the dog a toy whenever it is outside, as it will chew on it rather than the rocks.

Lots of things can cause dogs to eat wierd things. Do the rocks she eats come out from under a grill? The flavor will cause this. Has she been checked by the vet to make sure she doesn't have any metabolic problems that could cause it? Above all, I would get the rocks cleaned out of the yard so she cannot get to any. So far you have been lucky enough that she has vomited them up. Your luck may run out with a bowel obstruction.

Dogs will eat rocks. The dog is throwing up because its body knows thier not suppose to be there and the stomach is very irritated .The rock Will get lodged in the digestive track and the dog can die. Sometimes the rocks come out on their own but if they don't surgery is required. Your dog needs a vet and keep him away from any rocks.good luck.

I had a friend with a rottie who got in the habit of eating rocks while he was at a boarding kennel. He had a few serious problems for a while because of it. You need to watch your puppy carefully and tell her a very firm no when you catch her. You need to break this habit, and you have to be consistent. She's teething right now and her gums hurt - give her lots of things of different textures that she can chew on.
