I am a 34 year old Australian female living in Scotland and I have that restless feeling. I have £1500 in savings and no commitments. I have been living in Edinburgh for a year and a half now, and although beautiful and dripping in history and beauty, I'm over the weather, bored with my office job, and in need of a life changing experience. I don't want one or two weeks. I want a substantial experience.
I would like to think I am completely independent but I must admit that at the end of the day I am a tad "girly" in that I'm not sure I could navigate the Amazon on my own, so keep that in mind when you answer. And obviously I don't have a money tree to pluck from at my leisure...
With that being said, I am not averse to adventure and would be willing to push my comfort boundaries somewhat. I am very open minded, willing to immerse myself in a new culture and would like to feel as though I have made my mark on the world.
Any suggestions?

How about volunteering with something like Doctors without borders - or the Peace Corp. lots of change, adventure, shouldn't cost you too much and you would be doing something great.
Or - get a cottage on the coast somewhere and write a great novel about your life in Scotland, or Austrailia! I'd love to read it.

I know of a journey that will give you an adventure. You will have to push your comfort zone a bit, but you will definitely make your mark on the world. It is a whole new culture- a culture with a perfect Leader. You don't have to be super-strong; strength will be supplied. You don't need to be rich; money will just get in your way. And when you are finished, there is a reward that has never been matched. What's the cost, you say? It's free.
No, this is not spam.
It's called SALVATION.
Put your faith in Jesus- He will guide you through your pilgrimage. He wants you to do this- He wants you to accept Him so badly that He died on the cross- the most painful death known unto man - to get your attention. He's not charging a fee, at least not monetarily. All He asks for is your heart- and believe me, He can take better care of it than you or I can! He is perfect, powerful, and wise. He has never made a mistake.
There is a deadline- you can't start after you die.
He's open to prayers 24/7. You don't need to talk fancy- He knows whats on your mind and in your heart.
The alternative is everlasting agony in hell.
I'm praying that you make the right decision.

hmmm make a mark adventure, speaks english, has a smaal sum, could use help opening cans, and map reading. Gotta say if my wife would give me some time off I could deffinately lead you astray. They have just perfacted a way to find and destriy land mines, and Cambodia which is a great place has so many that kidds die of them regularly. I'd say find someone who speaks the 2 languages, go there and take along the do dad and in doing the deed u will meet the most fantastic people and that is what a really good time is really about. Navigated the globe 3 times and what I would do if I could is go back and visit some of those.
Mind you no need to actually find and remove though thats what I would do but supervising and keeping things going would draw the friendlys. Lotsa side stuff to do b4 getting in and doing the work. No problem highering a guy to open cans and spek for you when u get there.
for a cheaper investment there are also trained mice to do it,,, for real no jibe

Why not help some charitable organisation, either here or overseas.Do you fancy helping with youngsters? LOOK AT THE "LOVE RUSSIA" WEBSITE. They do wonderful work with orphans in Russia. and you would know that you had been doing something worthwhile with your time.
