I'm not sure if I agree entirely with your point. After all, TV is about choice. Don't watch something if you don't like it.

Poker is perfect for TV, though it really shows only the very high-stakes part of the game. The long hours of grind are edited out, because they don't make good TV.

Gambling is only addictive in a minority. Perhaps you should work on other issues affecting minorities, like homelessness, racism or religious intolerance.

here is the short answer-$40 entry fee can be parlayed to a $5 million dollar pay off and in what other sport can joe snuffy off the street challenge the BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD ! another big step in TV POKER was the home audiance playing the hand and seeing the cards,before that tv poker was horrid ,they could not GIVE away the broadcast rights ,but after chris MONEYMAKER (his real name) parlayed $40 into 2 million it has become very popular

networks dont care what they put on, now about 5 channels have poker shows

and most people gamble responsibly, only a handful are addicted they always have disclamiers on the shows

Poker is one of the best strategy games out there. With athletes turning my stomach at every corner this is the next best thing.

It's not always about the gambling . . . but then an uptight individual wouldn't understand that concept.

Costs the networks nearly NOTHING to put it on and there are actually bored enough people to watch that crap!
