He has his claws. There are no other cats or animals in our house.

Does he jump up and down off of a favorite place or places? If he is constantly doing that, he could have a problem with a tendon. Repetitive jumping can do that, it just happened to a friend of mine's cat. It is sort of common, but you should have it checked out if it doesn't go away in the next day or so to make sure. It could be something more serious.

Well, my four cats are indoor cats mostly and they tear around the house like it's a racetrack! Check his feet first for broken/torn claws, cut pawpads, or something stuck in a pawpad or between his toes. Gently run your hand up each leg to see if there are any obvious sore places. If you don't find anything obvious, just try to keep him quiet and warm for a day. If the limping continues for more than a day or gets worse, or if he won't eat or drink or is in obvious pain, get him to a vet.
Good luck.

She is still considered to be an adolescent, so she's still in her growing stage. She could have something as simple as muscle stiffness (I know, exercise and a cat?), or perhaps a bit of arthritis or hip dysplasia, both which can show up in younger cats. She could have also bumped herself jumping on and off furniture, or running around slippery floors. Cats are sneaky this way. I think that my 5 take turns getting these aches to see if we notice them. The important thing is that she is not in pain, so perhaps her vet will state that it's just a bump. Good luck.

My cat is also an indoor cat and he was limping around about a year ago. I felt his leg and it was obvious he was in a lot of pain, so I took him to the vet and he had a very severely broken leg. His hip joint was snapped right off, and his knee was fractured, and his tailbone was fractured. I have no idea how it happened to him but it's possible your cat has a fracture or something too. Good luck, make sure you take him to the vet though, he's probably in a lot of pain. It cost me about $450 to fix my cat's leg, without insurance. He healed up very quickly, and it was worth every penny. Good luck.

Are his nails cut back nicely? It is rare, but I have heard of it happening. If a cat gets his nails caught in upholstery, than tries to jump, that can be disasterous for a cat. It can tear leg muscles.

How is his weight? And how old is he? Could he have a bit of arthritis? There are natural things that could be done for that, maybe without alot of drugs.

Keep him in a flat place to sleep, away from drafts.

Lights off at night where he is can help sleep, which can help build him back up, along with quiet.

But cats seem not to mind anything to much, like noise and light.

And give em' a good diet, nutritionally. And lots of love, I'm sure you do.

Might he have caught a claw in something and yanked it loose? Our cat was messing around sticking her paws under the fridge and got her claw caught on something in there, and freaked. She was yanking hard on her paw trying to get loose and screeching, and we had to hold her still and extract her claw. She limped on it for a day or so. She didn't actually pull the claw out, but I think it was strained. She licked at it a lot for a while. Maybe he did that.

An animal can break or displace an area on his or her body and still be an exclusive indoor animal. Maybe something got into the paw or some kind of displasia. Watch it and if it continues take it to a vet.

He may have landed wrong while jumping down from something and injured himself. He could have picked something up in his paw that is now stuck in the pads or between them. Inspect them and look for injury. If you find none and the limp persist longer than a day, have him seen by a vet.

Well its hard to say but he could have jumped off something and just landed funny and he could have just hurt himself. Or it could be due to old age (if your cat is old). Other than that I really cant think of anything else.

There are many things that could've happened to your cat....she/he could've landed on it wrong, cut the pad, his/her leg could've fallen asleep. But my best bet is your cat probably jumped from something and landed on it wrong.
