When it wears out do you get them an identical one or mix it up?

What my doofy cat loves more than anything is-you know, that little plastic ring thingy that you have to pull off first to get the cap off of a plastic milk container. He eventually ends up losing them under the stove or fridge but he always gets a new one when we buy new milk.

Toy stuffed mice, mylar crinkle balls, and a rabbit's foot with a jingle bell on the end, also the Cat Dancer wand toy are the current favorites.
I tried to replace this one favorite toy my cat used to carry around in her mouth and totally destroyed, it was kind of a furry thing that squeaked, and I bought another one but she never liked it the same as the first one

My female cats favorite toy is blue bottle caps from water bottles. As soon as I open a bottle of water and lay the cap down on the end table, here come a little paw and swipes it off the table top. She even fetches. She will bring the bottle cap, hair tie, wad of paper, ect and put it in my lap. I then throw it across the room and she will go crazy chasing after it. She will then bring it back in her mouth and drop it to be thrown again, and she will do this for 30 minutes to an hour.
My male cat is old, rarely plays and lived in a house previously where no one played with him. His favorite thing to do is watch the fish in our 55 gal fish tank. He wil sit perfectly still for hours watching the fish. And sometimes he will try to "catch" the fish by putting his paws on the glass. He has played with bottle caps also, but he loves our fish!

A soft little catnip pillow! On a string, better yet. I have even sewed one from an odd sock I found in the drier, and attached a string when I sewed it.

Some caution with any string, with a small kitten. The kitten should probably not be left on attended with it, as he could wrap it around his neck, and they are fond of doing that.

Staying with the cat or kitten leads to an exceptional bonding experience. Like becoming one with them, you learn they're personality, and likes and dislikes, etc.. Like getting to know a person.

Oh, but not every cat will respond to catnip. Some, no reaction at all. Give it time.

Maybe they will be more attuned to it as they mature.

My cat's like catnip. I buy them these velvety feeling mice that only come out around christmas time, and sometimes they fight over them they like them so much. I've probably bought about 300 of those things. They also like jingley balls... and a burlap sack looking thing of catnip. I try to buy them an identical one to the one they wore out, but if it isn't available to buy, I buy them something similar.

One thing I bought my cats that I haven't used very much is a remote control mouse. They love it! When they see it they just go crazy, but the battery is pretty bad and only lasts a few seconds before it has to be recharged so I never bother playing with it, but they adore it so I will be looking for a better one for them.

I made two felt fish patterns, and sew them together. Then I put stuffing and a jingle bell inside of them. After that I took a rope and tied it around the tail of the fish. Whenever I jingle the rope-fish, she comes.

Another thing she likes is store-bought koala that we named "Ki-ki". It's about as big as 2 eggs. She has ripped him up very well.

I would get them a different toy when it wears out, or buy a toy kind of like it, but not exactly the same.

We get these leopard print balls that have feathers that velcro onto them. They love the combo of feathers and balls. We buy a lot of different toys but they always seem to pick these off our shelf of toys when they want to play. We can only find these toys at Walgreens, no pet store has them. They come in packs of 3 and last a few months then we buy more.

One of my cats had a favourite toy mouse. She lost the last one about 4 years ago and I'm convinced she still looks for it. Replaced with other ones, as can't find that make and she looses interest in them very quickly

As kittens, they liked those little plastic balls with a bell in them, and little fake furry mice. Neither one likes catnip though, never have. Which is disappointing.

The eldest cat likes to dive-bomb on me in the mornings while I'm sleeping. She'll jump from the dresser and land square on top of me. So I guess _I'm_ her favorite toy now!

Honestly? My 2 chihuahuas are my cats favorite toys. They love to smack both of my dogs around. Countless hrs of fun, and apparently it never gets old to them lol. And let me tell you, if they wear the dogs out, no I am not buying the cats anymore, thats a $400 toy! lol.
Poor little dogs, no wonder they are so skidish he he he.
