Well, yes actually it is, or it really depends on what you mean by "think yourself thin." If you mean "think yourself thin" as in "I am thinking that I'm thinner...BAM! NOW I AM!" well...that's impossible, but the body is constantly burning calories, even when you're sleeping, watching tv, or just sitting around.
It is proven that the body burns 8 calories per hour when you are reading a book, and only 7 per hour for watching tv. So really, the more intellectual stuff you do, the more likely you are to loose weight (plus you learn more stuff from reading, so it's a win-win situation).
Mind you, nothing replaces good old excersize and eating healthy, and you should try to do so regularly. However, replacing watching TV or goofing off on the internet/playing computer games with reading, brain teasers and puzzles, it will help you loose an extra pound.

Only if you put into practice what you are thinking and that being the best way to make a lifestyle change that will be with you the rest of your life. Any of these fad diets don't work for long. Get off the diet and you gain back what you lost and then some. Only way to do it right and keep it off is make the lifestyle change that you will use all the time. That is a healthy nutricious meal system that has lots of fruits and veggies with a few nuts thrown in for the protein. It has been proven many times over if you leave out most ifnot all the hight fat meats, you will not only live many years longer but have a much healthier life with not so many trips to the doctor.

No its not. Losing weight is biological and has to do with burning off more calories than you consume. I do think though that getting into the right 'mindset' is a huge advantage and is the only time I have ever lost loads of weight. If I knew how to achieve the mindset and keep it I would be rich (and thin!) by now but I guess it has to do with timing, determination and resolve.

Good luck :)

Your thought process drives everything you do. So, consider the fact that fat people usually eat too much due to psychological reasons, I would think that if you "think" and act like you're thin, it would help in your weight loss process. In other words: I'm thin, I exercise and use a moderate diet....Positive reinforcement always helps. But ultimately, there is no magic potion to be thin. But if you think you're "hot" you will act that way. If you think you're a "fattie" you will think that way. godloveya.

No, im a personal trainer and being thin is only going to happen if you eat good, exercise , vitamins are a good idea too.
Plus being in good shape makes you feel so much more complete and your energy level goes up.
Doing not thinking will get you thin.

If you think yourself as thin then you'll feel good about yourself. Which is always good for your self esteem and may stop you binging on the wrong food.

Unfortunately, no. That is to say, only in your mind.

I've read that you should imagine yourself how you want to look ideally and keep that image in your head. So that have something to aim towards. Don't be unrealistic. Let's face it not many people will ever get a body like Angelina!

Remember curves are good!

Well, I've heard that, even though you lose many kilos, you still consider yourself fat because you are used to this idea. For this reason there is anorexia, because girls stop eating, become very thin but still consider themselves fat, and go on starving, and then they became ill.
