99 Escort Radio Works But No Sound?

I have a 1999 Ford Escort, the radio works, but no sound comes out the speakers. Any ideas?

sounds like you a speaker wire is broken if it just has rear speakers

if its a factory stereo, the internal pre-amp fuse has probably blown, or the circuitry for the pre-amp is faulty. Also possible but unlikely, all of the speakers are blown.

uhmm... It doesn't work. Go to walmart and get a new stereo with a mounting kit.... The factory stereo's are not worth repairing.
