Your friend may have the original CD. I think a licensee gets to install the software on two PCs.

Microsoft has a free viewer for powerpoint presentations.
If your friend wants to make a presentation, then for free, your friend should download OpenOffice. It is a free Microsoft Office replacement that can read/write MS Office files and their Powerpoint replacement program is pretty good. It can read and write PP files.

go to www.google.com and type in powerpoint download and click on one of the options. Or got to www.microsoft.com and click on microsoft office and it show be on the software list

Only thing I can think of is visit http://www.microsoft.com, they may have a trial version your friend can download. Usually, you just would have to buy it (if you want a legal version)

WELL THERE ARE NO FREE DOWNLOADS THAT ARE LEGAL ANYWAY. TELL THEM TO GO TO MICROSOFT AND THEN TO OFFICE THEY HAVE DOWNLOADS FOR ALL OF THE DIFFERENT SECTIONS IN THERE PICK THE ONE YOU WANT PAY FOR IT AND DOWNLOAD IT.
