circle time. have them sit in a circle and teach them. they have so much fun!

Young children love fingerplay songs because it keeps them moving and involved. I do fingerplay song at circle time. Any song can be turned into a movement song.

finger plays are great for all ages in the classrooms...
they can be used to get the attention of the children, or to involve all of them
they can be used to encourage participation of very shy students
they can be used to introduce subjects, or to reinforce them
they are always fun to sing and watch, the children always want to participate and have a turn to lead the others in the songs.

They are best used for transistioning from one activitity to another. Ex. for clean up time sing twinkle twinkle little star.
"Twinkle twinkle little star stop and clean up where you are
It's time to put the toys away , well get them out another day
Twinkle twinkle little star stop and clean up where you are."

Use brown bear, brown bear to get the children quiet. Copy the patterns and put them on the ceiling. Greg and Steve Children's music has the song. Have children lay down on carpet and use flashlight on ceiling to brown bear. This one gets the to calm down.
